Yesterday I had a client that came for her 2nd session. She has responded very well these techniques I teach. She said that she was not near as skeptical about it after going home after the 1st session and giving it a try. She was excited that it worked so well. She was also amazed at how negatively she thinks and has done so for so long without paying any attention to her thoughts.
She said she sat down and really started paying attention to the thoughts that came in and in return caused her great distress, she practiced saying STOP every time she noticed she was feeling bad and decided to take a close look at what thought was behind that feeling.

All of this inspired me greatly!! I decided to really put to practice what I was teaching this person. What really helped was the fact that she was bringing up thoughts and feelings that hit home with me also which put a spark of motivation in me to take more action with myself. I realize that it really is all about a choice.
When I battled anorexia for over 10 years it felt as though "it" had so much control over me that it felt impossible to ever eliminate from my life. But then one morning, after all those years, I woke up and MADE A DECISION/CHOICE that I was through with it, tired of it, it was senseless and would be no way I could honestly keep that up for the rest of my life. In that ONE moment I made a DECISION, I was still wrapped up in it just the night before. So that just goes to show you just how powerful the human mind is and when you get sick of something bad enough then thats when you'll take action and make something different.
I also realize that changing mental habits seems more difficult than with physical habits, because you can't just walk away from your mind. But nevertheless it IS possible to change. It really all boils down to making a choice on how you want to feel, think, be or do, its really all up to you.

I was inspired by this client's willingness to open her mind and truly put forth the effort involved in changing. That gave me motivation for myself. Also just hearing myself say these empowering words to her felt motivating, even though at the time I was not FEELING these things, which only proves that by changing your usual negative language into more empowering and positive words you can literally change how you feel and believe from one moment to the next.

THIS IS HUGE!!!
