Getting Angry

I remember the time when I was about 5 yrs. old and we were at my aunt's house. She usually always had toys there for all the kids that were around. I chose to play with this play phone where you pick up the receiver and there's a recording on the other side, don't remember exactly what it said now, but I kept hanging up the receiver and calling it again and trying to get them to answer me back when I said something to them, and of course that never happened, so on the last attempt I became extremely angry because they wouldn't talk to me so I threw the phone down and said "why won't you answer me"!

(that memory is one of those that sticks in my mind for some reason)

It's funny how we just remember certain things. Yesterday I was recalling a time when had to be about 4-years old, and I can remember having my mom show my how to write my name.
I think recalling those past memories, and how it just comes to us from nowhere, is an amazing thing.
My earliest memory is when my sister was born...I was only 18 months old, but I can give my parents details about that, details that I could only remember myself. I remember WAAAY back, and those memories pop into my head all of the time.
It is actually very wonderful to be able to recall back to such an early age, as I can remember my great-grandparents. They died when I was 2-3 years old, but I can still recall them all so vividly.

Wow, you have a really good memory!

I only remember very few select things when I was 2 or 3, and they are not really all that vivid. I can also remember the general feelings I was having at the time.

My grandfather died before I was born and my other grandfather died when I was only about 3 or 4, and all I remember about the latter was that he had just had a stroke when we first moved from CA to TN and that was the first time I had ever seen him, he couldn't really talk and he had a cane and he was very scary to me because I remember him coming to the front door when I was outside playing at their house and I came up to the steps and he waved his cane and tried yelling I guess but it came out sounding like some monster or something and I got so frightened by that!

Yes, I have a very unusual sense of memory. It is rare that anyone can recall that far back in life; I actually did some research on that a few years ago, as I was intrigued that I could actually recall life that far back. I don't remember everything, but some things are so etched into my memory, which I am thankful for. (My husband says he can't remember anything vividly until he was about five years old, so we get a laugh out of recalling our childhoods...my memories start at 18 months and his start in kindergarten:)

We talk about our childhoods also sometimes and he's kinda like I am as far as how far back he can remember.
Sometimes people block out certain times of childhood for pyschological reasons and its possible I guess thats what I've done with myself, I don't know.

There is lots of nice stuff I remember about my childhood that always brings a smile to my face, it always helps me to let a little more of the real me out.
